 Sheet Metal Estimator

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sheet Metal Estimator to join our team. The Sheet Metal Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates and quotes for customers based on their specifications for sheet metal products. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers to understand their requirements and provide cost estimates and quotes based on their specifications

  • Analyze and interpret customer drawings and specifications to ensure that quotes accurately reflect the scope of work required

  • Work closely with the sales team to provide support in generating new business

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all quotes and customer interactions

  • Follow up with customers to ensure that quotes are received in a timely manner and that any questions or concerns are addressed promptly

  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure that cost estimates are based on accurate cost data and that production schedules are realistic

  • Continuously monitor market trends and stay up-to-date with industry developments to ensure that cost estimates and quotes are competitive and reflect current market conditions

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in estimating for a sheet metal shop or related industry

  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and techniques

  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word

  • Experience with CAD software and ERP systems is an asset

Salary: $70,000 to $110,000, full-time, on-site in Santa Clara, CA

Account Manager

What You’ll Do

  • Provide customers and vendors with an excellent customer experience, and function as a point of contact for order fulfillment.

  • Develop and manage supplier and customer relationships.

  • Perform all duties related to execution of order fulfillment and deliveries.

  • Prioritize work and make sure deadlines are met.

  • Lead purchasing activities with stake holders: vendor network, identify potential suppliers, negotiate pricing, and vet suppliers.

  • Expedite purchasing activities and ensure quotes are received and submitted in a timely manner to customers.

  • Submit quotes to customers.

  • Assist in resolving customer questions, inquiries, and special requests.

  • Receive and enter customer orders and quotes accurately.

  • Review and edit orders and quotes for correct pricing, shipping terms/location, and quantities.

  • Evaluate product availability and lead times required with an awareness of special customer requirements.

  • Monitor and track orders. Follow orders from the purchase order receipt to product release, to shipment, including any follow-up actions required.

  • Communication effectively over phone and email.

  • Provide the customer with proactive communication regarding order status, logistics issues, and action plans to meet expectations for order delivery. Ensure the sales team and other stakeholders are aligned and informed.

  • Accurate project filing and documentation, creation/maintenance of various spreadsheets, correspondence, preparation of meeting agendas and meeting notes.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of customer service experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in an administrative capacity.

  • Significant and proven experience developing relationships with customer and vendors.

  • BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrate a history of exceeding goals.

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work with minimal guidance; Proactive, motivated self-starter.

  • Flexibility and ability to handle and manage change effectively and efficiently.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Possess the drive to succeed and to participate in the growth of an exciting, fast-paced company.
