Beltim & Associates pairs state-of-the-art technology with experience and industry expertise to painlessly provide top-quality plastic and metal components.

What is CNC Machining?

Machining creates the parts and components that give life to everyday technologies. Including household appliances, cars, the many medical and dental devices that keep us healthy and the tools of cosmic exploration — even the International Space Station relies on machined elements.

“CNC” stands for “computer numerical control.” Arguably the greatest advance in manufacturing, it means that a computer controls all measuring and cutting processes, guaranteeing total precision.

What is CNC Milling?

CNC milling is a machining process that produces custom parts by removing material from a workpiece until the desired shape is achieved — a process known as subtractive manufacturing.

How do CNC Milling Machines Work?

CNC mills use a rotary cutting tool that moves along multiple axes. Most modern milling machines offer 3-5 axes of freedom for the cutter as well as some mobility for the workpiece, allowing complex, previously unimaginable geometries to take form.

Our spectrum of fabrication equipment can fulfill all your manufacturing wishes with unmatched speed. We have vertical CNC milling machines, horizontal CNC milling machines, 5-axis CNC milling machines, manual milling machines, and a range of lathes.

And our time-tested techniques and cutting-edge CNC technology ensure efficient, error-free manufacture every time.

Our machines allow us to achieve tight tolerances:

  • Size of parts: range from .01 to 214 inches

  • Tolerances: tight tolerances from +/- .002 inches

And our super-precise Swiss-type machines offer the following ultra-fine tolerances:

  • Size of parts: we shine brightest in the .028 to .375 range but can machine parts from .01 to .75 inches

  • Tolerances: +/- .005 inches

Which Types of Materials can be Milled?

We have extensive experience working with many materials, including, but not limited to:

  • Precious metals: gold alloys, platinum, MP35N

  • Metals:  6061/7075-T6 aluminum, steel alloys (303/ 316/ 17-4, among others), titanium, magnesium, zinc, tungsten, nickel, copper, brass alloys, and various

  • Polymers: polycarbonate, Delrin, nylon, acetal, PVC, PEEK, ABS, Ultem, Torlon, HDPE, PFA, acrylic.

  • And our facilities are ITAR registered, ISO 9001: 2015 certified, ISO 13485: 2016 certified, and AS9100D certified.
